I actually ha...I ran across this entry by accident. I actually had to read to my husband your question about why you would need to be on a waiting list for an e-book. If you hadn't posed the question, I would have gone on about my business without having thought to question it myself! In fact, neither would my husband (just goes to show how Kindle-savvy we are)! But I do think I may have an answer. It's a guess, but I believe it has to do with licensing. I'm thinking each library is only the owner of so many licenses of each book (much like they would only have 2 or 3 hard copies of anything). While they probably, in the tehnological sense, have another copy to give you, they may be legally obligated not to.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
